Description

Monopoly GO! is a modern take on the classic board game, Monopoly. It is a fast-paced game that can be played by 2-4 players and is suitable for ages 8 and up. The game is designed to be completed in 30 minutes or less, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy the fun of Monopoly but don't have the time for a full game.

The object of the game is to be the player with the most money at the end of the game. Players will start with a set amount of money and will use this to purchase properties, collect rent, and participate in other in-game activities. The game board features various properties that players can purchase, including different types of buildings and other landmarks. Each property has a specific value and rent cost, which players will need to consider when making their purchases.

One of the unique features of Monopoly GO! is the inclusion of "Chance" cards. These cards add an element of surprise to the game and can either benefit or hinder players. Chance cards may instruct players to collect money, pay rent, or even force them to move their playing piece to a different location on the board.

The game also features a "GO!" space, which is where players will start each turn. Each time a player passes GO!, they will collect a set amount of money. This encourages players to move around the board quickly and collect as much money as possible.

Another fun aspect of Monopoly GO! is the inclusion of special tokens. These tokens are designed to represent various items, such as a skateboard, a rollerblade, or a scooter. Each token has its own unique ability that can be used to help players collect more money or hinder their opponents.

Overall, Monopoly GO! is a fun and fast-paced game that offers a fresh take on the classic Monopoly game. It is a great option for those who want to enjoy the fun of Monopoly in a shorter amount of time, while still offering all of the same exciting features that have made Monopoly such a beloved game for generations.

How to play

Monopoly is a classic board game that has been around for over 80 years. The goal of the game is to become the wealthiest player by buying, renting, and selling properties. Here's how to play:

Set Up:

Each player chooses a game piece and places it on the GO square on the board. Players are then given a set amount of money, which varies depending on the number of players. The properties are then shuffled and placed face down on the board, with Chance and Community Chest cards shuffled and placed in their designated spots. Finally, the banker is chosen to oversee the distribution of money and properties.

Starting the Game:

The first player rolls two dice and moves their game piece the number of spaces indicated by the dice. They then follow the instructions on the space they landed on. If the space is unowned, they have the option to purchase the property. If they choose not to, the property goes up for auction.

Building Properties:

Once a player owns a property, they have the option to build houses or hotels on it. The cost of the buildings is listed on the property card. The more buildings on a property, the more rent that can be charged.

Collecting Rent:

When another player lands on a property that is owned by someone else, they must pay rent. The amount of rent is determined by the number of buildings on the property and the base rent listed on the property card.

Chance and Community Chest:

When a player lands on a Chance or Community Chest space, they draw a card and follow the instructions on the card. This can result in the player gaining or losing money, moving to a different space on the board, or other actions.

Jail:

If a player lands on the Go To Jail space or draws a Go To Jail card, they are sent to jail. To get out of jail, they must either pay a fine or roll doubles on their next turn.

Free Parking:

There is a space on the board labeled Free Parking. If a player lands on this space, they do not need to do anything. However, some players use this space as a jackpot where players pay fees and fines into the space and then collect it all when they land on Free Parking.

Winning:

The game continues until only one player is left with any money or until all other players are bankrupt. The player with the most money and assets at the end of the game is declared the winner.

Monopoly is a game of strategy and luck, as players must make decisions about which properties to buy, how much to charge for rent, and when to build on their properties. It's a classic game that has stood the test of time and remains a favorite among families and friends.
