Description

The zombies are coming! So get ready to soil your plants when a mob of fun-loving zombies invade your home. You have the choice to use your arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants — Peashooters, Wall-nuts, Cherry bombs, and more — to 'mulchify' as many as 26 types of zombies or they break down your door and conquer your territory

Plants vs. Zombies is a casual video game that you'd really enjoy playing if you are big on adventure and zombie stories. Your mission in the game would be to use a range of plants to fight and stop hordes of zombies from entering your house.

It is essentially like the regular tower defense games but the twist is that instead of using guns, missiles and whatnot on the zombies, you get to use plants to defend your territory against the evil boss, Dr. Zombo, and his zombies.

The plot of the game is straightforward too.

After Dr. Zomboss and his zombie bosses have taken over the town, it is your duty as the ‘’Commander in Leaf’’ to defend it. You will get thrown into tower defense battles that you must win to Devour Tower. Once there, you are paired in a duel against some terrific zombies that you have to win so that you can rescue the plants they captured, and restore your town to normal.

There are eight different game modes in Plants vs. Zombies. Four of these modes are available on the Main Menu: Adventure Mode, Mini-games, Puzzle Mode, and Survival Mode for the PC version. On the flip side, you only have to play Adventure Mode and for the iOS and Android versions.

The different plants in your possession have varying defensive and attacking abilities. So it is up to you to place them in such a way that you can protect your tower. The playing field is split into 5 to 6 horizontal lanes where plants can attack the zombies.

As you progress in the game you get the chance to buy plant upgrades with different offensive and defensive abilities. Throughout the game, you will get warnings of imminent ambushes so you can be prepared.

To fully enjoy Plants Vs Zombies you'd need to get used to its several different level types and layouts. At the nighttime level, there is no sun to provide power for your plants except you have specialized plants. At the nighttime pool level, there is so much fog and only the use of specialized plants can help. At the lightning storm level, you also get challenged by more darkness and little slivers of lightning. If you make it to the rooftop level you will face off with Dr. Zomboss’s robot.

You are also shown the various types of zombies to expect at each level you get to. At the same time, you can choose which seed packs to use at the level. It is also a great idea for you to understand the nature of the plants in your arsenal so you know what to use at different levels.

There are also different zombies with different attributes so get ready to experience dancing, flying, and fully armed zombies at different levels.

The thing with Plants vs Zombies is that you can easily get a grasp of it as you play. The best part is that it is free. All you need is a device and some internet connection and you are good to go.

How to play

Thankfully, you can play Plants vs. Zombies on a range of devices. You will be under constant attack during the game, so you can start with a plant pea blaster that can stall them for a while. Avoid being overwhelmed by the initial wave of attacks because there are more powerful zombies in front of you. The pea shooter won't be able to stop those guys, so you better get some really powerful plants and have the right skills or you risk losing to the zombies.

If you're ever short on ideas, you can open the "Almanac" to get more information about all the zombies and plants in the game so you can plan a great strategy.

Since you have a limited number of plants to pick from at each level, you have to use the right plants at the right time. Depending on your knowledge of the different types of plants and zombies, place the right plants in the path of the various types of zombies that attack you.

For example, place cactus plants when attacked by balloon zombies, and so on. Other plants, such as magnet mushrooms, are perfect for fighting zombies that have a lot of metal items on them. This means that you have to pay before you place them, and the currency you use is "sun". But since many of your plants are nocturnal and their sunlight cost is low, you can use them for night battles.

There are so many zombies with special skills, but with the right strategy, you can get rid of them all. The good news is that you can unlock new plants as you go through the levels, so you may already have the right plants unlocked to deal with the zombies the game throws at you.

You just need to be smart when you play!

Another way to get rid of as many zombies as possible is to use a lawnmower. The trick is to get any zombie to the end of a lane. The mower will then shoot forward and destroy all the zombies in that lane.

The downside is that if any zombie reaches the end of the same driveway twice, they can enter your house. This is bad news for you.

Because as the zombies enter your house, the music will change and everything will stop. Next, you'll hear a crunching sound, a scream, and a message that says "Zombies ate your brain!"

Then the game ends and you have the option to return to the main menu.

Have you ever played Plants vs. Zombies before?
